Overcoming Stage Fright and Life's Challenges: Amulya's Triumphant Journey

Long working hours and financial strain painted a difficult picture for Amulya's childhood. With both parents working tirelessly to make ends meet, there was no one at home to provide the care she needed. This reality led her to Sphoorti.

Though scared at first, Amulya soon realized that Sphoorti wasn't just a hostel. Unlike the world outside, there were no gender barriers here. She practiced Karate and found a platform to hone her passion for dance. One of her favorite memories is giving dance performances at the Shilpakala Vedika, a convention center in Hyderabad. Dancing on that stage regularly helped her conquer the fear of stage fright. Every year, on Independence Day, it became a tradition to give dance performances. Amulya fondly remembers the annual anniversary celebrations where everyone would cut cake together with mamaiya.

Life, however, wasn't without its challenges. When Amulya was in 8th grade, her father passed away. This devastating loss impacted her studies for months. She found solace and support in the Sphoorti family - her friends and mamaiya were by her side, helping her cope with her grief and get back on track with her academics.

Sphoorti went beyond just academics; it provided a safe space to navigate the complexities of womanhood. Amulya’s seniors and Venkateshwari attamma were always there to answer her questions and guide her through any concerns she had about periods and reproductive health. Amulya is grateful for attamma’s support when her sister was diagnosed with PCOD. She ensured that her sister received the treatment she needed.

In 2023, Amulya graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree and now works as an associate for a sigma project based out of the United States. An MCA course is next on her agenda. Today, she's financially stable and takes care of her mother, but a part of her always remains at Sphoorti, with the family she made there.

One of her biggest inspirations at Sphoorti was Devi, a warden who meticulously looked after everyone's well-being. Watching Devi manage everything from personal care essentials to health concerns instilled valuable life skills in Amulya, teaching her how to take care of herself.

Amulya's message for future students is a testament to the foundation's transformative power: "If you seize all the opportunities that the foundation gives, you will have a bright future."
